Look at this fabulous harvest that has been donated to the #growanotherrow project. Such an eclectic mix of colours, shapes and sizes of tomatoes, nothing like the ones you buy in the supermarket and the taste is out of this World! 🍅🍅🍅
Home grown cucumbers 🥒 are so incredibly delicious, they’re thicker, yet shorter than shop bought. But so much more tasty!
Who knew we could grow grapes 🍇 in sunny Lancashire too? What a delight!
There’s also some large courgettes/marrow which is so versatile it can be roasted, eaten in salad or even made into courgette cake (similar to carrot cake).
And the beautiful yellow veg are patty pan squash. Delicious roasted, sautéed, grilled or even air fried.
Thank you so very much to The Greenhouses at Witton Park #lancashirewildlifetrust. We will distribute these to people who need them via #blackburnfoodbank. 💕💕💕

We all know that we could do a little better.
Look at this fabulous example that Lindsay Evans has set. Lindsay was feeling inspired after using the new food waste recycling bin. She saved fruit pips and stones and planted them to see if they would flourish and now has a mini mandarin orange tree growing on her windowsill #bemorelindsayevans
You could take the mini challenges through the whole of September to try different things like, eat less meat, plant a tree or shop second hand.
I love a challenge - who else thinks they might try this?

National School Meals Week 6th-10th November 2023
National School Meals Week is a promotional activity designed to raise the awareness of great school food served daily by professional caterers in school across England and Wales. There are lots of ways to get involved and some of the themes for the week include:
- Come Dine With Us: Let’s get parents into dining rooms across the country, where they can sample how great the meals are and to see what a great environment it is to work in.
- National Roast Dinner Day: A roast dinner day showcasing the best local British produce, and LACA challenge you to create the best plant-based version as well.
- Try something new: A day to encourage children who haven’t tried meals in a while or to get existing customers to sample some new dishes.
